Washi ‘Z’ is a panchromatic black-and-white film 400 ISO, 35mm format, 24 exposures.
Originally used for aerial photography, it is a near-infrared film (up to 750nm). Washi ‘Z’ is an excellent choice for landscapes due to its excellent rendition of green tones, its high contrast and its high red sensitivity. It is very effective for shooting in sub-optimal lighting conditions.
The emulsion is laid on a polyester base and must absolutely be loaded and unloaded in the shade and in a dark environment to avoid light ingress. Once the film is loaded, shoot at least 2-3 empty frames (with the cap on) to avoid light ingress on the first photos.
The films are not DX-coded, so they must be used with machines that allow manual ISO selection.
