ARS-IMAGO #9 Film Developer is a highly concentrated, high-energy, disposable black-and-white film developer. Prepared with the original Agfa Rodinal formula, tried and tested for more than one hundred years, it is one of the oldest and most versatile detectors ever produced, used and known worldwide with one of the most comprehensive collections of development times.

The concentrated solution can be diluted to fit every type of negative, allowing a large quantity of negatives with great sharpness, good contrast control and good grain quality.

The concentrated chemical has a practically unlimited duration if not opened, and a super long one even if opened.

Instructions

PREPARATION: The concentrated solution has to be diluted with water right before its use. Please use graduated beakers, It's a One Shot solution, meaning that the diluted solution must not be reused. Dispose of it after the use. Prepare the needed solution with running water.

Suggested dilution:

  • 1+25: 1 part concentrated liquid + 25 parts of water
  • 1+50: 1 part concentrated liquid + 50 parts of water.

TEMPERATURE: The temperature of water must be at 20°C before being added to the developer.

AGITATION: For manual tank development, agitate this way: continuous for the first minute, then agitate 5 seconds every 30 seconds.

TIMES: Check the suggested dev. times indicated in the datasheet. Avoid dev processes that are less than 4 minutes long.

CAPACITY: Approx. 20-40 35mm or 120 films with 200ml of concentrated #9 (depending on which dilution you use)

STORAGE: #9 in its concentrated foorm doesn't have a documented expiracy date as of today. The working solution, as said, must be disposed of after having used it.
