Batteries not included, or needed
Since the I-1 camera has its own rechargeable battery, I-type film packs don’t need their own batteries. So I-type is environmentally friendlier than standard integral film - not only that, but it’s therefore lighter, easier to produce and, ultimately, less expensive.
Please note: Since I-type film packs don’t contain batteries, they can not be used with classic Polaroid® cameras.
This Films are also perfect for the Impossible Instant-Lab.
New film, same great quality
I-type features the same chemistry as the latest formulas for Polaroid® 600 and SX-70. So with I-type color film it takes less than two minutes for an image to emerge, and approximately 25 minutes for it to fully develop. When it comes to black & white I-type film, an image emerges in 30 seconds and is fully developed in less than 5 minutes. You also get a more accurate preview of the image as it is developing, with less of a blue tone.
New packaging design
I-type film also follows the color coded packaging system we’ve recently introduced, which allows you to quickly and easily find exactly the film you need. All films which can be used with a particular camera system are designed with a matching color. So all films for the I-1 camera come with yellow packaging and accents, just as all films for 600 type cameras come with blue packaging and accents.
